Barry Nash voted as Sporting Limerick’s Player of the 2023 National Hurling League

In the public vote to determine the League Player of the Year, Nash earned 436 first-place votes, beating out Tom Morrissey and Darragh O’Donovan.

Barry Nash has been voted the Sporting Limerick Player of the League following a public vote. The South Liberties man beat out Tom Morrissey and Darragh O’Donovan to the award after helping Limerick seal the National League title on Sunday afternoon.

Nash was arguably Limerick’s standout performer in the final as he helped himself to 1-1 from corner back in the 11-point win in Pairc Ui Chaoimh.

He was named on the GAA.ie Team of the Week following the game, his third time featuring in the team this Spring, carrying his All-Star form into the new year.

In the public vote to determine the League Player of the Year, Nash earned 436 out of 1707 first-place votes, beating out Morrissey (333) and O’Donovan (288). Sean Finn (123) and Cian Lynch (64) completed the top five.

Twenty-two different players received votes as Limerick won six successive games, following a first-round defeat, to clinch a third league title in five years under John Kiely. Full results.

Attention for Limerick will now turn to the Munster Senior Hurling Championship where they will be hoping to complete a record-equalling fifth title in a row. In the first round, they meet Waterford in FBD Semple Stadium on Sunday, April 23.
