Limerick legend Ciarán Carey will be the special guest at Dromcollogher Community hall this Sunday night as part of the club’s #LidlOneGoodClub initiative.
Carey will be discussing the importance of mental health and the stigma surrounding addiction and depression. Carey has developed a service called MyMove that addresses those subjects.
As part of the #LidlOneGoodClub initiative, Dromcollogher Broadford Ladies Football Club and GAA Club have teamed up to work through a number of themes over the past ten weeks with the programme concluding with the theme of “keep learning” with Carey’s talk the headline event.
So far, the club have competed a random act of kindness challenge, book swaps, greeting cards and fundraised for different causes including Pauline’s reuse and darkness into light.
This Sunday, Carey will be in the Dromcollogher Community Hall at 8pm sharp for his talk which is free to everyone. Doors open at 7.30pm with 13-17 year olds to be accompanied by a parent.

“On Sunday 14th of May, Ciaran will share his life experiences and discuss the importance of looking after your mental health as well as addressing the stigma that exists in the community around addiction and depression.
“Ciaran Carey plays an important role in promoting mental health and has developed a new service called “MyMove” which aims to support people who are looking to improve areas in their emotional and mental health.”
In the lead up to the talk, Ladies Footballer Niamh McCarthy discussed the initiative thus far and this weekend’s talk.
