Newcastle West native to take over as new Limerick Senior Football Manager

He became the first man to lead Newcastle West to back to back SFC titles in 2022 and they are 100% so far this year in a bid for three-in-a-row.

Newcastle West native Jimmy Lee is set to be named as the new manager of the Limerick Senior Footballers it was revealed on Sunday afternoon.

Brother of former manager Billy, Jimmy is set to be ratified in the coming weeks. He has previous experience with the inter county side where he was involved during Billy’s reign.

Billy Lee was replaced by Ray Dempsey in late 2022 after a six year sting at the helm but the Mayo native left the post during the league with Mark Fitzgerald replacing him.

He was one of the front runners to take the role for 2024 but it appears that Lee will the main man for the coming season. His brother Joe was the Limerick minor manager as recently as 2021.
