WATCH: Aisling Annacotty Chairman Jim Canny excited by future plans

Aisling Annacotty Annacotty held a club awards night on Thursday evening at the Castletroy Park Hotel. All underage and junior awards were presented on the evening with most age groups at the club fielding five teams. Also, the club took the opportunity to unveil plans for the development of the club as a whole including the clubhouse and grass pitch.

Chairman Jim Canny was the first club official to greet the large audience on the evening and speaking to the local media afterwards, he went into detail about the plan for the future.

“The club has always been ambitious and always will be. Over the last ten to fifteen years we have shown that ambition. Now we are moving on to another part of our journey and that encompasses a lot of money and a lot of investment. The first part of the investment would be to build a state of the art clubhouse and a state of the art community centre which can be used by everyone in the parish.”

Aisling Annacotty boasted enormous support within the community on the night and have a list of at least 30 sponsors. Canny is delighted with the support given by the local community.

“I think it’s a reflection of everybody in the club from the volunteers right through the club. We have 52 teams playing and 110 coaches and that network reaches out to the community. We put the player first and when business and people see that, they will want to help the club.”
