All Star Mulcahy to take a year away from Camogie side

Less than a fortnight after representing Limerick in the Camogie All Star tour of America, Niamh Mulcahy has announced that she will be stepping away from the intercounty camogie scene for the upcoming season.

Mulcahy has been a stalwart of the side for the past 15 years and was finally rewarded winning a much deserved All Star for her role in guiding Limerick to first All-Ireland quarter-final since 2004 earlier this year.

Mulcahy is set to marry Clare Senior Footballer Gary Brennan who is also stepping away from the intercounty scene in 2020.

It is understood that the pair intend to travel during the summer next year.

Mulchay made her debut for Limerick back in 2005 and was named as Young Hurler of the Year two years later.

During the week Paul Sexton was named as the new camogie manager for the 2020 season.
