Cork away to start for Limerick as Munster Hurling League fixtures confirmed

The Shannonsiders will be looking to make it three successive wins in the January competition.

The fixtures for the 2023 Co Op Superstores Munster Hurling League have been revealed with Limerick kicking off their campaign away to Cork in mid-January.

The All-Ireland Champions will be the last team to take to the field when they travel to Pairc Ui Rinn on Sunday January 15 with a 2pm throw in time.

They will be in action two days later when Mick Neville Park hosts their clash with Kerry on Tuesday the 17th. The group winners will meet on Sunday January 22 in the decider. Clare, Tipperary and Waterford make up the other group.

Last year Limerick claimed the title in Ennis as they beat Clare 0-28 to 0-17 in Cusack Park. The Shannonsiders would go on to win the Munster championship against the same opposition before besting Kilkenny in the All-Ireland final.

John Kiely and co are expected to give a chance to a number of fresh faces with just four of the 2021 All-Ireland winning side starting in the Munster Hurling Legaue final against Clare this year.

Like the January competition, Limerick will be on the road to Cork in their League opener with Waterford away to kickstart the Munster championship.

Limerick are seeking a five in a row of provincial crowns while looking to equal the record of four successive All-Ireland titles.
