Five newcomers as John Kiely names first Limerick squad for 2019 season

All-Ireland Champions Limerick are back in competitive action for the first time since their national triumph in August as they take on Tipperary in the opening round of the 2019 CoOp Superstores Munster Senior League tonight in the Gaelic Grounds.

Limerick face a Tipperary side who are back under the helm of Liam Sheedy who led the Premier County to an All-Ireland title in 2010.

For the game, John Kiely has selected five men who were not part of the All-Ireland winning squad in August in the form of Robbie Hanley and Aaron Costello (Kilmallock), Mike O’Brien (Doon) Ronan Connolly (Adare) and Conor Boylan (Na Piarsaigh).

Boylan is the only player included from the County Champions Na Piarsaigh.

In total there are eight from the starting XV that defeated Galway in Croke Park set to start in the Gaelic Grounds including Hurler of the Year Cian Lynch.
