Fr Casey’s and Adare crowned 2020 Minor Football Champions

There were two outstanding 2020 Limerick Minor Football Finals played on Friday evening with both Minor premier and A titles up for grabs.

At the LIT Gaelic Grounds, Fr Caseys were crowned champions after beating their west rivals newcastle West 0-11 to 1-5.

It was a third successive title for the Abbeyfeale men who were appearing in an 8th county final in 10 years.

Caseys became champions once again following a great reaction to conceding the only goal of the game and their experience showed with a composed display following the setback.

After losing their previous two finals against the Magpie’s, the Abbeyfeale side made no mistake in claiming a sixth title in the last decade.

Adare were also crowned champions on Friday with a 1-9 to 0-9 victory over South Liberties in the County Minor A Football championship final which was played in Bruff.

A late rally by South Liberties wasn’t enough to repair the damage that had already been implemented by a strong Adare side who now crown themselves 2020 minor A champions.

It caps off a brilliant 2020 for Adare who clinched Senior Football honours in October.
