Gibson-Park ruled out for Argentina clash due to thigh injury sustained against All Blacks

Ireland scrum-half Jameson Gibson-Park will be omitted from selection for the Pumas visit due to a thigh injury he sustained in Ireland’s victory over New Zealand.

Jameson Gibson-Park is fast becoming Andy Farrell’s go to guy after helping Ireland grind out a 29-20 win over the All Blacks at the Aviva last weekend.

However Gibson-Park will have to wait a while longer before putting on an Irish jersey again, as he has been ruled out for Ireland’s final Autumn Nations clash with Argentina due to a thigh injury.

Leinster scrum-half Luke McGrath has been called into the Irish camp in place of the inactive Gibson-Park.

Gibson-Park now joins his fellow Leinster and Ireland half-back partner Johnny Sexton on the Ireland injury list, as Sexton was ruled out for the Pumas fixture due to a twisted knee and ankle injury, with Connacht out-half Jack Carty being called in as cover.

Both Gibson-Park and Sexton are now in doubt for Leinster’s Champions Cup openers which are set for the coming weeks, hosting premiership side Bath at the Aviva before traveling to GGL Stadium to play Montpellier the week following.
