Glenroe GAA club raise €11,000+ for the UHL

Over the past few weeks we have seen the GAA band together like no other organisation can to help those most in need during the coronavirus epidemic.

Glenroe GAA Club are the latest club to get involved as they have raised a substantial sum of money for the Front Line Workers at the University Hospital in Limerick.

The 2019 Intermediate Hurling Champions ran a 24 Ball Wallathon to raise the much needed funds and posted videos throughout the day on their social channels.

The club set up a Go Fund Me page where people could contribute to the cause with the bio reading,

“As a small rural Club in South Limerick we look to others to support us. We would like to take this opportunity to now be the supporters. Starting on Easter Monday at 9am we are running a 24hr wallathon.

All funds raised will be donated to the frontline workers in University Hospital Limerick. We would love for others to complete an hour & get your families to support by donating. Please pick an hour to complete. In the comfort of your own home. Send photo’s to our Facebook page.”

After 24 hours they had raised over €8,000 and have continued to raise more in the recent days.
