Andy Farrell’s men were able to build on their emphatic win over South Africa the week previous.
Ireland were victorious against Fiji in their Autumn Nations Series Test match with the score ending 35-17 at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday.
It was a nightmare start for the home side as Fiji were 7-0 to the good after just five minutes following an early Kalaveti Ravouvou try that was sweetly converted to give them an early advantage.
Their lead lasted only ten minutes as Nick Timoney got over the line for Ireland with Joey Carbery converting to level the scoring. Six minutes later and the duo combined again as Ireland took the lead for the first time.
Fiji added a penalty to their tally two minutes later but Ireland continued to inflict damage with Robert Baloucoune sealing their third after just twenty-five minutes with the score reading 21-10 at the interval.
And the lead was increased again, this time through Mack Hansen, scoring for the second successive game, as their lead was extended to 18 points with 61 minutes on the clock.
There was time for both sides to get a try apiece as Fiji added another in the 64th minute through Simione Kuruvoli while Cian Healy crossed for Ireland’s fifth of the game, with all five being converted.
That’s two wins from two now for Ireland and Andy Farrell as they prepare to host Australia this Saturday at the Aviva Stadium.
