Saturday’s final didn’t go to plan for Limerick as Louth were able to put out a spirited second half display to clinch victory over the Shannonsiders.
Louth were crowned Division Three champions as they defeated Limerick in Croke Park on Saturday.
A spirited performance came from Louth’s Ciaran Byrne who kicked four from play while Sam Mulroy bagged himself 0-6 to finish as the League’s top scorer.
Limerick ended the first half in control of the tie as the Shannonsiders were a point up by the half time whistle.
But Louth hit a purple patch midway through with Liam Jackson’s goal the difference in the end.
Robbie Burke put up two scores late in the game but it wasn’t enough to close the gap and as the whistle blew Louth had five points to spare as champions of Division Three.
