HIGHLIGHTS | Na Piarsaigh show their quality against South Liberties to book their place in the SHC final

It’s a tenth Senior Hurling Championship Final in fourteen years for the Caherdavin side.

Championship favourites Na Piarsaigh booked their place in yet another senior hurling final as they ran out 1-23 to 0-9 victories over South Liberties in Kilmallock last Saturday.

It was a sloppy start from the City side, who hit five wides before Adrian Breen got their first as they edged into a 0-5 to 0-4 lead with twenty minutes on the clock.

The score read 0-8 to 0-5 at the interval in Na Piarsaigh’s favour with Barry Nash notching all of the South Liberties points from placed balls.

However, the Caherdavin outfit flicked a switch at half-time and stormed out of the blocks, surging eight points clear inside ten minutes of the restart.

The side proved too strong for Liberties, who were playing in their first SHC semi-final since 1985 and a late goal from Daithi Dempsey was the icing on the cake for the 2020 champions.

October 30th marks the date of the SHC Final with Na Piarsaigh preparing for a repeat of the final in 2017 against Kilmallock.
