Limerick side reach Neymar 5-a-side tournament in Brazil

Limerick team ‘Whoyaplayin’ are headed for Brazil in June to take part in the Neymar Jr Red Bull 5-a-side Soccer Tournament.

The Limerick side outlasted over 185 other teams throughout the country to reach the Irish final in Belfast and secure their ticket to Brazil.

The team is captained by Askeaton man Niall Smith who plays with Aisling Anacotty. His club teammate, Gavin Dillon from Abbeyfeale is also part of the seven man squad.

Summerville Rovers have two members of their squad travelling to Brazil in Kildimo’s Paudie Walsh and David Lynch.

Galway pair Eoin Roache and Sean Keogh, as well as Sligo’s Lorcan Feeney make up the squad.

53 countries will be represented by 65 teams in Praia Grande, Neymar’s hometown this summer.

Sporting Limerick wishes the very best of luck to all involved!
