Limerick sides aiming to keep up pace atop Division One of the National Basketball League

The Limerick Celtics and Sport Eagles share top spot in the Southern Conference of the Men’s Division One.

Limerick’s Men’s Division One duo, the Celtics and Sport Eagles return to InsureMyVan.ie League action this Saturday after a two-week break.

Both will be at home with the Sport Eagles welcoming Scotts Lakers Killarney to UL while the Celtics will host Fr Mathews in Crescent College Dooradoyle.

The pair are currently in a four-way tie for second place in the first division with identical records. Each have nine wins from their 12 contests. That record is identical to that of Fr Mathews, with Ulster University also having nine wins, although they have played a game extra.

The three Munster sides share top spot in the Southern Conference, three games ahead of SETU Carlow and Scotts Lakers.

Moy Tolka Rovers top the charts with an impressive eleven wins from their 13 games this season. They are away to Team North West this Saturday.

In the Women’s Division One, the Celtics and Sport Huskies are also in action this weekend. The Celtics welcome Portlaoise while the Sport Huskies face Marble City Hawks.

The Celtics are sixth in the standings with a record of (7-5) that is enough for third in their conference. The Sport Huskies have only one win to their name this year and prop up the table.
