LISTEN: Antóin Power says minors will be ready “to go at it again against Galway”

Limerick suffered a 1-20 to 1-12 loss in the minor Munster final yesterday in a game in which his side never really got going despite getting the first two scores of the game.

Tipperary then settled well and took control of the game. The Limerick minor manager says his side never hit their stride.

“The most disappointing part is that we didn’t go at it like we did in the last three of four matches. Tipperary were deserving winners on the day”.

Tipp then his six points to take a 12-7 lead in at the break and when Limerick missed several chances to cut the deficit early in the second half it put further pressure on the team.

“Crucially after half time, we missed four or five crucial chances to get back into the game and when those don’t go over, you are kind of chasing it then. That gap of four of five points was always there.”

Limerick will have dust themselves down as they face into a round robin with Galway in Kilkenny in a bid to secure an All Ireland semi final spot. Power says the team can only look forward and cannot dwell on the defeat.

“We have to stay positive, It’s going to hurt probably for the next day or two but we have to get back up, we are playing Galway next Sunday. We don’t have time to beat ourselves up, we just have to go at it again next Sunday”.
