GAA
When the lockdown was implemented back in March, the GAA closed it’s doors for one of the first times in its illustrious history.
Uncertainty was to the fore in the nation as no one knew what would be the outcome.
Hindsight will tell us that the GAA returned in an unusual manner but in the wake of Limerick’s All-Ireland victory, winning captain, Declan Hannon spoke about the importance of keeping the ultimate goal in mind during the lockdown.
The team kept themselves ticking over and would peak on the biggest stage of all in Croke Park, with Hannon comparing the win on Sunday to that in 2018.
“It’s great, it feels even better. During the lockdown when we took a break from things, in the back of your mind, you were always thinking about getting here. It was a long long year but we are delighted to be here. Over the moon.”
