Mixed bag for Limerick sides as Energia AIL Men’s Divisions begin

There were six Limerick sides in action, with three winning and three losing their opening round fixtures over the weekend.

The Energia AIL Men’s Divisions kicked off over the weekend, with six Limerick sides in action across multiple tiers.

Shannon were one of two teams representing Limerick in Division 1A, and they got their campaign off to a great start, picking up a 27-22 win over UCD.

Young Munster are also competing in Division 1A, and will be disappointed to leave Dublin empty handed following their 29-14 loss to Lansdowne.

Garryowen suffered a ten point defeat to Highfield in Division 1B. They are the sole Limerick competitor in this grade.

UL Bohemian kicked off their Division 2A season with a loss at the hands of Nenagh Ormond, while Old Crescent ran out five point winners over MU Barnhall.

The final Limerick side can be found competing in Division 2C, where Bruff got their campaign off to a great start, marching to a 32-26 win over Clonmel.

In the other ties, reigning champions Terenure kicked off their title defence with a narrow win at home to Ballynahinch, while City of Armagh ran Cork Con close in a live game on Saturday evening.
