ODDS | Newcastle West favourites to retain SFC title after four rounds of action

The defending champions have yet to retain their title on the four occasions they have entered the championship as holders.

Newcastle West are the favourites to retain their Limerick SFC title with four rounds of games played in this year’s competition.

The defending champions have won each of their four games and top group one of the SFC as they bid to retain their title for the first time in history.

Table toppers in group two, and thrice winners in the past five years, Adare are next up with odds of 11/4. Adare have also been victorious in each of their games thus far, as have Fr Caseys, who can be got at 3/1. They trail NCW on scoring difference heading into their final round clash.

St Kierans, the other undefeated team in the championship, are priced at 8/1, just ahead of last year’s semi-finalists Monaleen who are 9/1.

2021 Intermediate Champions Kildimo Pallaskenry are sixth favourites at 20/1 as they hold the aces for the final knockout spot in group two.

Claughaun, who need to beat Monaleen in the final round to advance can be got at 33/1, as can Galtee Gaels who are level on points with KP and Ballysteen in their group. Ballysteen are priced at 40/1 while there was no pricing for Oola or Galbally who are both in relegation danger in group one.

Ballylanders have been eliminated from the reckoning as they prepare for a relegation play off.
