Quaid, Hayes and O’Donoghue all start as Limerick team named for Dublin showdown

O’Donoghue captains the side, the Na Piarsaigh man rekindling his relationship with Darragh O’Donovan in the middle of the field.

John Kiely has made a number of changes to his Limerick side as they prepare to face Dublin in the Allianz Hurling League on Saturday at 5.15pm in Croke Park.

A number of regulars return to the starting XV, with Nickie Quaid, Kyle Hayes and William O’Donoghue all set to start.

O’Donoghue captains the side, the Na Piarsaigh man rekindling his relationship with Darragh O’Donovan in the middle of the field.

The Shannonsiders have picked dup two wins in their two league games so far, although Kiely admitted he was disappointed with their sluggish display against Westmeath last time out.

This is a very strong Limerick team, as Quaid returns between the sticks, protected by a full-backline of Fergal O’Connor, Mike Casey and Barry Nash.

Making his first appearance of 2024, Kildimo Pallaskenry man Hayes joins Diarmaid Byrnes and David Reidy in the half-backline, while the usual midfield pairing of O’Donoghue and O’Donovan return.

2020 Hurler of the Year Gearoid Hegarty is named at half-forward, with Conor Boylan lining out on the other wing. Cathal O’Neill is set to play centre-forward.

Donnacha O Dalaigh, Shane O’Brien and Adam English have all been impressing in their appearances so far this year, and the trio are all named in the inside-forward line once more.
