Treaty United travel to UCD as First Division season continues

As such, the Dublin side present a stern test for Treaty, who will be hoping to make it two wins from two for the new season.

Treaty United will look to continue their bright start to the 2024 League of Ireland First Division as they travel to Dublin to take on UCD.

Tommy Barrett’s men sit second in the table following the first round of games, having picked up an exciting 3-1 win at home to Cobh Ramblers last Friday.

The Shannonsiders will not be getting carried away but there were some real promising signs in that victory, mainly in the form of Thomas Considine, who bagged a brace to inspire his side to the three points.

It was a successful opening round for UCD as well, with the college side managing a 2-1 win away to Bray Wanderers, despite playing majority of the tie with ten men following an Alex Dunne red card.

William O’Connor’s troops are newcomers to the First Division this season, having been relegated from the Premier Division last year, and they are heavily tipped to go back up at the first time of asking.

As such, the Dublin club present a stern test for Treaty, who will be hoping to make it two wins from two for the new season.

Barrett was without new club captain Mark Walsh last week, as well as youngster Darren Nwankwo, and the pair could well be available for selection once more this Friday.

Travelling Treaty fans will be eager to see Considine work his magic again, the 21-year-old will probably be the first name on the team sheet following last week’s exploits.

Kick off is at 7.45pm in the UCD Bowl.
