Reports are circulating online about the new structure for this years All Ireland Senior Football an Hurling Championships which will see the All-Ireland finals played in mid December.
Hurling
In the All-Ireland Hurlign championship, there will be a back door for teams who are beaten in their Province.
The Munster championship will begin on the weekend of October 24/25 with a quarter-final tie.
The semi-finals will take place the following weekend with the final down for decision on the weekend of November 14/15.
The Qualifiers take place on the weekends of November 7/8 and 14/15.
The All-Ireland quarter-finals will be played on the weekend of November 21/22.
The following weekend the semi-finals will take place.
The All-Ireland final will be held on Sunday December 13.
Limerick’s league campaign has concluded as there will be no final in Division 1.
Football
In an expected move the qualifiers have been scrapped in the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship with the competition reverting to a straight knockout.
The Munster Football Quarter-Finals are due to start on the weekend of 31/1 October with the semi-finals a week later.
The Munster Football Final will be played on the weekend of November 21/22.
Teh Munster champions will play the Connacht winner on December 6 with the final to be played on December 20.
Limerick will also conclude their League campaign with their round 6 tie with Wexford on Ocotber 17/18 and their final game with Sligo a week later.
The draws for the championships will take place later this evening on Rte 1.
