Treaty United travel to Bishopsgate for Longford Town clash

Longford are bottom of the league table, having lost at home to Finn Harps and Cork City in their opening games.

Treaty United continue their League of Ireland First Division campaign on Saturday night, as they visit Bishopsgate to lock horns with Longford Town, kicking off at 7.30pm.

Tommy Barrett’s side dropped their first points of the season last time out, as Bray Wanderers produced a late fightback to earn a draw.

The result saw the Shannonsiders slip to second on goal difference, but they will take solace in the continuity of their unbeaten streak.

Longford are bottom of the league table, having lost at home to Finn Harps and Cork City in their opening games. The midlands club have had their two other fixtures postponed.

There will be some familiar faces in action on Saturday night, with former Treaty keeper Jack Brady lining out for Longford. Fan favourite Dean George also kits out for Town these days, and may well play a part.

Barrett’s men had the better of the fixture last season, winning three of the four ties the pair contested, losing the other. The games served up an aggregate score of 11-7 in favour of the Shannonsiders, meaning goals could be on the agenda on Saturday evening.

It has been an excellent start to the season for Treaty, who would not have expected to remain unbeaten at this stage of the season. Everyone involved will be hoping to keep the good times rolling when they line out in Longford.

The game will be streamed live on LOITV here. Individual match passes can be purchased for €5 or viewers can purchase a season pass which will give them access to all games across the League of Ireland.
