Munster senior coach Stephen Larkham discusses the teams loss on Friday evening as they look to bounce back against Edinburgh.
Munster suffered at the hands of Glasgow last Friday in a testing battle that saw these two giants go toe to toe.
The defeat was Munster’s first in five as they fell to a 13-11 loss in dreadful conditions in Scotstoun.
Reflecting on the loss to the Warriors, coach Stephen Larkham said,
” There’s nothing that we can really put our finger on except that combination is very important, cohesion in terms of selection is very important.
“Our lesson as coaches is to make sure that we don’t over complicate the week too much. We make sure that we’re very good with the basic protocols of our game, and as you can see on the weekend we had a number of areas that weren’t quite up to scratch and we probably focused to much on stuff when we’ve got cohesion and combination.”
Larkham compared his team to that of a string quartet, with a need for togetherness and harmony. However, with a number of players missing through injury and international duty, the Australian admitted that this is hard to find.
“Ethan Coughlan is away with the 20s at the moment, we had Craig Casey away, Conor Murray is away, we’ve got Neilly ( Neil Cronin ) and Patrick Patterson aswell, we’ve normally got good stocks but we got quite a few guys away at the moment.”
