Munster welcomed the Cheetahs to Thomond Park on Saturday evening hoping to get their season off to the best possible start in what looked to be a tricky opening day fixtures. As things would pan out, Johann van Graan’s side would dominate from start to finish and record an impressive 38-0 win.
Rory Scannell and Dave Kilcoyne had opening half tries for Munster. Tommy O’Donnel, JJ Hanrahan, Dave O’Callaghan and Darren Sweetnam added tries in the second half as new signing Joey Carberry got his first run out for Munster as a second half replacement.
