WATCH: James Cronin on the long road back to fitness and injury frustration

James Cronin made his long awaited return to action during pre-season for Munster and is looking to make up on lost time after a frustrating 12 months.

The loosehead prop had been out since last November due a number of injuries that also blighted any chance of going to the World Cup with Ireland.

“Last November I had a bit of knee issue. Tried to rehab it here first, but that didn’t work. Went up to Ray Moore in Santry and had a bit of a clean out job.

“It was a bit of a disaster after that. Rehab and then I was almost back. Then I tweaked my hamstring before the quarter final for Europe.

“Then it was the semi final and I re-tweaked it again, I was trying my hardest to get back out on the field, but the body was saying cool the jets.

“Massively frustrating but on the flip of it, you get to appreciate the game more.”
