Watch: Relive the incredible 2011 Munster U21 Hurling Final

Six years ago, Limerick and Cork played out one of the most thrilling U21 games ever witnessed. Under the floodlights in the Gaelic Grounds, Limerick came out victorious 4-20 to 1-27 after Extra Time to secure a first Munster Championship since 2002.

Since then many of the players on action have gone on to represent their counties with each of the Limerick goalscorers Graham Mulcahy (x2), Declan Hannon and Seanie O’Brien all playing inter-county championship in the past two years.

Limerick looked to have secured the win in normal time as they lead by two points heading into injury time. However, Aidan Walsh would prove to be the hero for Cork with a long range strike sending the game to extra time with the sides deadlocked t 3-14 to 1-20.

Live95fm‘s Liam Aherne was on commentary that night and this clip from Aherne sums up the drama of the night. Audio credit Live95fm.
