WATCH: “You were preparing for one” Hannon on Limerick’s focus during uncertainty

Limerick are back in the All-Ireland Hurling Final for the second time in three years.

In a year like no other, Limerick are preparing for the biggest game of the year which will be played in front of no one in an +80,000 seater stand.

However, for captain Declan Hannon, the hard work put in during the uncertainty of the initial lockdown has reaped the rewards it deserved.

“Earlier on in the summer, you didn’t know was there going to be a championship but at the back of your head you were preparing for one. Those jogs and bits you did by yourself during the lockdown were with that goal in the back of your head.”

The Limerick captain also discussed this weekend’s opposition outlining their recent success as they won an U21 All-Ireland final and reached the senior decider as recently as 2017.

The Adare man referenced the recent clash in the Munster final where Limerick were pushed to the pin of their collar by the Deise.

He also spoke about the huge battle that was the semi-final, having no crowd at the All-Ireland final, the lack of build up in the public and having the full squad permitted to attend the final.

Listen in full to Hannon below.
