Limerick bow out of Munster Minor Football Championship

Limerick bowed out of the Munster minor football championship following a 2-12 to 1-11 defeat to Tipperary after extra time in Newcastle West last evening.

The home side found themselves 1-4 to 1-3 ahead at the break, thanks, in part, to a Dylan Moloney goal late on.

Tipperary held a late lead following a positive second half but a Keith O’Kelly score from distance ensured that the sides were level at the end of regular time on a 1-10 to 2-7 scoreline.

However the Premier County scored five points without reply in extra time to claim a 2-12 to 1-11 victory.

Tipp will now play Waterford in a play off next week for the right to host Clare in the semi finals.
