WATCH: “You have to play on whatever is in front of you”- John Kiely on Carlow’s Pitch.

Carlow welcome Limerick to Dr Cullen Park on Saturday evening with a place in the All Ireland Quarter Finals up for grabs. Limerick are strong favourites in what will be the first ever championship meeting between the sides.

Carlow have impressed thus far this year winning the inaugural Joe McDonagh cup and employing an exciting brand of attacking hurling. In addition , Carlow will hold home advantage and will look to pull of the shock of the century.

With the lack of rainfall in recent weeks, Dr Cullen Park is looking very dry but Limerick manager John Kiely is untroubled by the state of the pitch.

“You have to play on whatever is in front of you. If that’s the way it is, then that’s the way it is, we can’t control that.”

“We’re looking no further than Saturday night. That’s just the way it is. It’s a knockout phase and we are just looking to put in a really good performance on Saturday night and ensure that’s enough to get us the win on Saturday night.”

“This is the real business end of the year and this phase is hugely important to us.”
