LISTEN: Jamie Wall ‘relishing’ the chance for Kilmallock to put things right

After a 15-week lay-off from the Limerick SHC, Kilmallock were quickly reminded of the difficulty of the competition as they succumbed to a 6-15 to 2-11 defeat at the hands of Na Piarsaigh last Thursday night.

After running the champions so close in the semi-final twelve months previously, the Balbec were no match for an inspired Caherdavin side.

Things don’t get much better for Kilmallock as they now face Patrickswell this Friday in the Gaelic Grounds on Friday night.

Kilmallock’s Paddy O’Loughlin clears under pressure from Conor Boylan in their 6-15 to 2-11 loss against Na Piarsaigh

For selector Jamie Wall, the game will provide the perfect chance to address all that went wrong against Na Piarsaigh last time out.

However, he is fully aware of the class that Ciarán Carey has at his disposal with Patrickswell the only side with a 100% record after three games.

“The beauty about sport sometimes is when you do have a bad day at the office you have a chance straight away to try and put it right.

“That’s the benefit of the new format. It’s the same at county level that if you have a bad day you are not out of it.

“Everyone knows we under performed last week but that’s in the past now. It’s great to have a game straight away.”
