WATCH | Rewatch in full as Monagea retain their Limerick Ladies Senior Football title

The sides were meeting in the decider for the third time in four years on Sunday afternoon.

After successive losses to St Ailbes in the 2019 and ’20 Limerick Ladies Senior Football finals, Monagea got their revenge on Sunday as they defended their title.

The West outfit retained their crown for the first time with a 1-10 to 1-7 win in Bruff on Sunday afternoon. In 2021 they won their third ever title with a three point victory over Ballylanders in the TUS Gaelic Grounds.

Catriona Davis got the all-important goal in the first half as she kicked six more points to help her side to victory.

Mairead Kavanagh’s goal did help Ailbes into the half time lead but Monagea found the extra gears down the home stretch to secure gold.

They now move on to the Munster Intermediate Football championship, where they were runners up last year.
