Adare see off Brickey Rangers to claim Munster Camogie title

It has been a stellar eighteen months for the West Limerick side as they capped it off with Munster success.

Adare have been crowned Munster Junior Camogie Champions as they overcame Brickey Rangers 1-9 to 0-8 in Kilcommon today.

Aebhín Houlihan got the all important goal with the first score of the game as Adare continued their impressive 2022 campaign.

All-star nominee Caoimhe Costello was the scoring star of the afternoon, as she hit 0-7 with four coming from open play.

Just a week after overcoming Tulla in the Munster semi-final, Houlihan got Adare off to the perfect start before the Waterford side replied with a pair of points.

Caoimhe Costello got off the mark with a free and added her first from play shortly after to leave it 1-2 to 0-2.

Costello again found the target once more to extend their advantage. Brickey Rangers briefly reduced the margin to two points before Costello’s fourth left it 1-4 to 0-4 in the Limerick sides favour at the half.

The All-star nominee kicked off the second half scoring but Brickey replied with a pair to make it 1-5 to 0-6. Costello had her sixth before Poppy Giltenane had Adare four to the good.

Giltenane and the Waterford outfit exchanged scores with Adare leading 1-8 to 0-8 approaching the final whistle.

And fittingly it was Costello that rounded out the scoring, her seventh point of the afternoon sealing a historic win for Adare.

After winning the Limerick Junior Championship in 2021, Adare have now added Limerick Intermediate and Munster Junior titles to their recent collection.
