It continues an exceptional year for the three-time All-Star who also broke moved joint-13th in the all-time scoring charts.

The public has voted Aaron Gillane the GAA.ie Hurler of the Week following his incredible performance in the 2023 Munster Senior Hurling Final against Clare.

The Limerick sharpshooter received 5,430 votes on the GAA’s Official Instagram page which put him ahead of Galways’ Conor Whelan (4,524) and Kilkenny’s Eoin Cody (3045).

Once again Aaron Gillane was the point of the Limerick spear as they defeated Clare to win a fifth Munster title in a row. He finished with a personal scoring tally of 1-11, 1-3 of which came from play.

The Patrickswell man was unplayable from start to finish, tormenting the Clare defence throughout as Limerick made it five Munster titles on the trot, Gillane a key man in each.

And it was his second half goal that really turned the tide as Limerick took the lead for the first time since the opening exchanges. Collecting a bouncing pass from David Reidy, Gillane turned on the afterburners before firing into the net past Eibhear Quilligan.
