Charity Limerick Christmas Jumpers running out quickly

Fans may not be able to attend this year’s All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship final, but Bord Gáis Energy will help them show their #HurlingToTheCore support for their county in a unique manner, whilst also supporting a worthy cause.

Bord Gáis Energy has made 500 county-themed All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship final Christmas jumpers available for sale – with all proceeds going to homeless charity Focus Ireland.

Limerick star, William O’Donoghue was on hand to launch the charity drive which aims to raise €20,000 to help fight homelessness in the run-up to Christmas.

The jumpers have been manufactured in Ireland by the GAA’s official leisurewear providers, Ganzee and will be available for sale on www.ganzee.ie from Monday, November 30th. Every cent paid by hurling fans for their county-themed jumpers will go to Focus Ireland.

Managing Director of Bord Gáis Energy, Dave Kirwan said:

“At Bord Gáis Energy we are proud and privileged to be able to raise much-needed funds for Focus Ireland, our charity partner, who do so much to help those who have fallen into homelessness. It is so important to raise this money in the run-up to Christmas, which can be a tough time for many.

“We’re very proud of our long association with the GAA and I’d also like to thank our partners in the GAA for their continued support.”

Focus Ireland CEO Pat Dennigan said:

“The support of Bord Gáis Energy really helps Focus Ireland to support more families and individuals who are homeless or at risk.  We couldn’t do the extent of the work we do without corporate partners like them.

“It’s been a tough year for everyone and this Christmas jumper campaign is a really nice way for people to help raise a smile while supporting their county in the All Ireland Hurling Final and also raising vital funds for Focus Ireland’s work challenging homelessness and changing lives. I would also like to thank the GAA for its kind support.”

Uachtarán Chumann Lúthchleas Gael, John Horan added:

“Bord Gáis Energy has shown incredible support for hurling during their long association with the game. They are also showing their support for such a worthy cause through this initiative and we commend them for this.

“I would like to extend my thanks to all of the team at Bord Gáis Energy for their continued partnership and their ongoing support of the GAA Hurling All-Ireland Senior Championship.”

2020 marks the fourth year of Bord Gáis Energy’s sponsorship of the GAA Hurling All-Ireland Senior Championship, which will continue for a further two years to 2022. Bord Gáis Energy is also title sponsor of the U-20 GAA Hurling All-Ireland Championship and is the sponsor of the Bord Gáis Energy GAA Legends Tour Series of Croke Park.
