Defeat for the Limerick Ladies footballers in Antrim

John Ryan’s Limerick ladies were defeated on Sunday in Antrim that saw them drop to fourth in Division 4 of the National Football League.

The loss sees Limerick with a 50% record after four games with three games remaining.

Limerick are still within a victory of top spot with Antrim at the summit with 9 points.

In tough conditions for football, neither side gained a foothold in the opening half with Antrim’s four points cancelling out Limerick’s goal after 20 minutes.

By the time the ref at blown for half time, Ryan’s side had gained the lead, holding a 1-2 to 0-4 lead in the North.

However, that would be as good as it got for the All-Ireland Champions as Antrim blitzed Limerick for four second half goals as they came away with the spoils, winning out 4-8 to 1-8.

Limerick have Kilkenny next and will be confident of coming away with a victory over the Leinster side who prop up the table.
