Donovan starts as Dempsey makes one change in Limerick side to take on Cork

The Monaleen native starts after making a goalscoring contribution off the bench in last week’s defeat in Ardee.

Ray Dempsey has made one change to his Limerick side to face Cork in the third round of the National Football League this Sunday afternoon.

Into the side comes Brian Donovan with Adrian Enright moving to the bench. It is a first start of the year for Donovan who returned to action with a goal from the bench last weekend in Louth. He also hit the net in Limerick’s loss to Cork in last year’s Qualifiers.

Elsewhere, the starting XV is as it was in Ardee in the round three defeat.

Chris Thomas is named among the substitutes, the Oola man featuring for the Limerick U20s in their All-Ireland hurling final loss to Kilkenny last year. Thomas and teammate Cathal Downes, who starts in midfield, were both a part of the Limerick U20s hurling side that lost out to Cork in the 2021 Munster final in this weekend’s venue.

Dromcollogher Broadford’s Jack Ryan is in line for a league debut off the bench should he feature.
