FAI Junior Cup Draw Round Two

The draw for the second round of the FAI Junior Cup has been made this afternoon with plenty of interesting ties thrown up in the Limerick District League section. There are 20 teams left in the Limerick District side of the draw while the Limerick Desmond League sides were paired with the Clare and Kerry District Leagues in round 2.

Last year’s beaten finalists Pike Rovers have home advantage as they host Nenagh AFC who have been in good form of late. The lowest ranked Limerick District League sides left are Brazuca United and Lisnagry and both have been given home draws against Premier A side Athlunkard Villa and Premier outfit Coonagh United respectively.

There is a clash of the titans when 2020 winners Fairview Rangers take on Aisling Annacotty at the Fairgreen. Aisling reached the semi-final stage in 2018. Ballynanty Rovers will take on Caherdavin Celtic at LIT. Limerick Desmond League outfit Kilcornan face a long trip to Dingle to face Dingle Bay Rovers while Shannonside FC will face a huge challenge against visiting Killarney Celtic. Breska Rovers take on Clare outfit Shannon Town.

The provisional date for the fixtures is the 16th of October but in the case of the Limerick District League sides, the round 1 fixtures were played a week earlier than expected so it could a week earlier for the second round.
