Limerick FC earn morale boosting three points at RSC

Tommy Barrett’s side came out on the right side of a nine-goal thriller on Friday evening as they inflicted a first home defeat on high flying Waterford on a 6-3 score line.

Striker Danny Morrissey had Limerick two goals to the good within the opening quarter of an hour, while things looked even more positive for the visitors when Stanley Aborah was shown a straight red in the nineteenth minute.

Young winger Karl O’Sullivan found the back of the net after that as Limerick looked to be out of sight with a three goal advantage, however, the home side fought back through Rory Feely and Courtney Duffus on either side of the half.

Substitute Mark O’Sullivan opened the gap to two goals once again on the hour mark but the drama didn’t end there as Duffus again hit the back of the net to make it 4-3 with seven minutes of regulation time remaining.

However, late goals from Barry Maguire and Billy Dennehy ensured that Limerick would go on to claim all three vital away points.
