Limerick reveal star studded 41-man panel for U20 Championship

The Limerick Under 20 Hurling Panel 2022 has been announced.

Diarmuid Mullins has revealed his Limerick U20 squad for the 2022 championship with 41 players to choose from.

Included are four of John Kiely’s senior panel in Cathal O’Neill, Adam English, Colin Coughlan and Patrick O’Donovan.

Last year, Mullins’ U20 were beaten by Cork 1-26 to 1-24 in the Munster final. A host of players remain from that team that played in Pairc Ui Chaoimh that day in the form of O’Neill, English, Coughlan, Chris Thomas, Michael Keane, Jimmy Quilty, Diarmuid Hegarty, Aidan O’Connor, Ethan Hurley, Fergal O’Connor, Patrick Kirby and Eddie Stokes.

Doon are the most represented team with English, Thomas, Stokes and Cian O’Donovan. Ballybrown, Mungret St Pauls, Cappamore and Monaleen all provide three players.

A number of Ardscoil Rís successful Croke Cup championship team are selected in the form of Shane O’Brien, CIan Scully, Vince Harrington, JJ Carey and Evan O’Leary.

Limerick open their Munster Championship campaign on Wednesday 6 April in TUS Gaelic Grounds when they host Clare. Limerick then travel to Cork a fortnight later with the top two in the three team group advancing to the Munster semi-finals.

Tipperary, Kerry and Waterford are in group two of the Munster champions where 1st in group one plays second in the other and vice versa for a place in the final.
