McCarthy To Oversee Euro 2020 Bid With Kenny Then Taking Over

It is being widely reported that Mick McCarthy will return to manage the Republic of Ireland’s 2020 European Championship campaign with Stephen Kenny to take over after the finals should Ireland qualify.

Current Dundalk boss Kenny has been confirmed as the new Under-21 manager, replacing Noel King. McCarthy who has managed with several clubs across the Premier League and Championship has signed a two year deal and the FAI are due to officially unveil him at a 3pm press conference on Monday at the Aviva Stadium.

Kenny will have responsibility for the development of the underage programs from U15 to U19.
