Munster beat a South African touring side for the first time on a famous Thursday night at Páirc Uí Chaoimh.
Munster completed the tri-Nations set as they beat South Africa Select 28-14 on a historic night in Pairc Ui Chaoimh.
Graham Rowntree’s side crossed the line for four tries with Shane Daly, Diarmuid Barron, Mike Haley and Simon Zebo dotting down.
Shane Daly broke the deadlock after four minutes after being set free from Mike Haley, with Antoine Frisch playing his part on his first start for the province.
Ben Healy converted for a 7-0 lead. But that advantage was quickly extinguished with Aphelele Fassi scoring in the corner for the South Africans.
Munster restored their lead on 29 minutes with Simon Zebo finishing from a well worked line out. Diarmuid Barron then powered over a couple of minutes later with Munster taking a 21-7 lead into the interval.
The second half was just two minutes old when Healy set Haley free for Munster’s final score of the game.
South Africa hit back with a try of their own after 62 minutes, but they never looked like threatening Munster’s healthy advantage as the province held out for a famous victory, a first over South Africa.
