Report | Na Piarsaigh power past South Liberties to book SHC final spot

Na Piarsaigh were dominant in the second half to secure the win.

Na Piarsaigh are the first team into the Limerick SHC final after beating South Liberties in Kilmallock.

The Caherdavin outfit were 1-23 to 0-9 winner after leading by just three at the half.

Adrian Breen scored 0-7 from play with Kevin Downes clinical from placed balls.

They will meet the winners of Doon and Kilmallock in the final on October 30. They face off in the other semi tomorrow afternoon.

As he did in Kilmallock in the quarter final, Barry Nash got Liberties off the mark in a half where the sides were level four times.

After five wides, Adrian Breen got Na Piarsaigh’s first as they eventually led 0-5 to 0-4 after twenty minutes.

This was extended to 0-8 to 0-5 at the break with Nash scoring all from placed balls.

But Na Piarsaigh came out in the second half a different team, moving 0-13 to 0-5 clear inside thirteen minutes of the restart.

They continued in that vein with Daithi Dempsey finding the net late on to seal the win and a place in a tenth final since 2009.
