Tributes have been paid across social media and beyond for Dr PJ Smyth former head of the Department of Physical Education & Sports Science at the University of Limerick.
The former Garryowen FC and Bective Rangers rugby player was considered a ground breaker in the field of sports science and was involved in several initiatives and programs including an internship for sports science students from UL to work at the West Coast Eagles AFL club.
