WATCH: Balla manager Magee aiming for more of the same this season

Ballynanty Rovers manager Donal Magee is hopeful that his charges can repeat the success of last season as they look ahead to the 2019/20 campaign.

Balla finished a very credible third place in the Premier Division last term, keeping tabs with Janesboro and Pike for large parts of the season.

Magee is looking for more of the same in this campaign after holding onto the majority of his squad from last term.

Balla have added a few bodies as well and Magee says that repeating the consistency from last season to this season is his main aim.

“I like to think that we will compete and be roughly where we were last year. We probably surprised a few people.

“I hope we can bring that on and be consistent and finish up as high as we can. What happened us at the end of last year is that we got caught with injuries.

“We had a few injuries to some key players so we suffered in that sense. We didn’t lose badly to anyone, they were very close games.

“We were still in with a realistic shout of the league up until the last four games and that’s just football.”

Ballynanty Rovers start their season with a trip to Kilmallock on Thursday, August 15th. Click below to watch the full interview with Donal Magee.
