WATCH | Best bits from this years All-Star XV

Limerick broke the record for number of All-Stars last weekend with 12.

2021 was certainly a year to remember for the Limerick senior hurling team as they retained their All-Ireland title for the first time ever after blitzing Cork in the decider.

That followed their first three-in-a-row of Munster titles in over 80 years in the summer which was achieved by virtue of a win over Tipperary.

That brought Kiely’s sides collection of medals to three All-Ireland, three Munster and two League titles in four years.

The incredible side were rewarded as such on Friday evening when twelve players were named on the All-Star team, smashing the previous record of nine that they matched last year.

Sean Finn collected a fourth award on the bounce, Cian Lynch, the Hurler of the Year was named for the third time, there was a second award for Diarmaid Byrnes, Declan Hannon, Kyle Hayes, Tom Morrissey and Gearoid Hegarty while Barry Nash, William O’Donoghue, Darragh O’Donovan, Seamus Flanagan and Peter Casey collected their first.

Eoin Murphy (Kilkenny), Conor Prunty (Waterford) and Tony Kelly (Clare) made up the rest of the team.

The GAA has since put together a collection of their best bits which can be seen below.
