WATCH: Kilmallock and Patrickswell earn wins as Limerick SHC gets underway

The Credit Union sponsored 2018 Limerick Senior Hurling Championship commenced this weekend with  Kilmallock and Patrickswell opening their season’s with comfortable wins from their Group 1 games.

Kilmallock faced Ballybrown in the first game at the Ennis Road venue and came out victorious on a 1-24 to 0-14 scoreline.

John Brudair’s side led by five points at half time and sealed the game in the final stages when Oisin O’Reilly netted the game’s only goal.

In the second game in Group 1 at the Gaelic Grounds, Patrickswell had a routine victory from their outing, beating Adare 3-24 to 3-10.

Two goals from Seanie O’Brien and one from Aaron Gillane had Gary Kirby’s side in full control of the game and although Declan Hannon (twice) and Willie Griffin raised green flags for Adare, it was as comfortable a victory as the scoreline suggests.
