Inclement Weather Significantly Reduces Soccer Schedule

The poor weather of the past week has played havoc with the final fixture list before the Christmas break in the Limerick District Soccer League. There were a host of fixtures postponed due to the inclement weather with several pitches becoming unplayable as a result.

The Premier Division clashes between Janesboro and Ballynanty as well as Geraldines and Fairview also fell victim to the severe weather. Only games on astroturf along with games in the FAI Junior and U-17 Cup and Munster Youth games will take place.

Pike Rovers face Newcastle West Town in the FAI Junior Cup at Crosagalla on Sunday (2pm) and will be desperate for the game to go ahead as it was also postponed 2 weeks ago due to the death of a Newcastle West Town club member.

Aisling Annacotty host Cregmore in the FAI under-17 Cup on Sunday (2pm) while Caherdavin Celtic host Murroe in the all-Limerick Munster Youth Cup clash at the same time. The Division 1A clash between promotion hopefuls Patrickswell and Kilfrush will also take place at LIT on Sunday (11am).
