Treaty United suffer setback with three departures confirmed

The Limerick club made the announcement that three of their players have left the club on Saturday afternoon.

Conor Melody, Jack Brady and Callum McNamara have all departed Treaty United ahead of the 2023 season, the club have confirmed.

Conor Melody, who has been involved with Treaty since the club was formed, is set for a move to the UK. The midfielder made 37 competitive appearances for Treaty and scored his first and only goal in the second leg of the First Division Play-Off Semi-Final against UCD in November 2021.

Jack Brady has signed for Longford Town after one season at the club. Brady made his debut Munster Senior Cup Quarter-Final victory over Waterford FC in February and was between the sticks for the club’s historic FAI Cup run this year, including the semi-final defeat at the hands of eventual winners Derry City. The goalkeeper kept 11 clean sheets in his 31 appearances.

Callum McNamara has completed a transfer to Galway United. McNamara was also involved with Treaty since their beginning, making his competitive debut off the bench in a 1-0 win over Wexford FC in April last year. In his 59 appearances, the midfielder scored once and notched three assists, winning the Fans Player of the Month in June 2021 along the way.

Treaty United will certainly need to be in the market during the off-season, with four players leaving the club in the last week including Joel Coustrain’s departure last Monday. Captain Jack Lynch and Joe Collins confirmed their departures at the seasons end.

Treaty, on Monday morning, discovered their first round opposition for the 2023 campaign as they will play host to Bray Wanderers on February 17.
