Treaty United host Monday Munster clash with in-form Waterford

Treaty United entertain in-form Waterford in re-fixed Munster derby clash.

Treaty United return to Markets Field on Monday evening, for a re-fixed Munster derby clash with second-placed Waterford. Kick-off at the Garryowen venue is set for 7.45pm.

This fixture was postponed in March, owing to a deluge of rain during that week and matchday.

United, fresh from their 1-1 draw away to Cobh Ramblers on Friday are seeking a second win of the season. They won their last home clash, 3-2, against Longford Town. That was a first win since September, which was followed by a loss to Finn Harps and Friday’s tie with the Cork outfit.

It took a superb Colin Conroy effort to draw Treaty level in St. Colman’s Park.

Tommy Barrett’s side have been struggling to find their form of last season, which saw them into the play-offs and an FAI Cup semi-final. That play-off, against Monday’s opponents, ended in a 7-4 aggregate defeat.

He will have to plan, once again, without Marc Ludden, Conor Winn and Mark Walsh. Willie Armshaw and Enda Curran are likely to return for United.

Waterford, meanwhile, are looking to cement themselves in second place.  They’ve won four games on the bounce having had a difficult start to the season. They already find themselves 10-points behind Galway United, who have won each of their ten outings thus far.

Limerick native Ronan Coughlan netted four times on Friday, as they survived an Athlone Town comeback to win 4-3 on home soil.

Following the departure of Danny Searle, Keith Long has overseen their four wins on the trot, where they’ve scored an impressive 15 goals.

Tickets are available – priced €13 for Adults, €10 for Students, €8 for OAPs, €5 for children. Supporters are encouraged to buy their tickets in advance of the clash, via the club website.
